Welcome to Fort Bend Masters Swimming!

We are novices and veterans, fitness and recreational swimmers, former collegiate and high school swimmers, aspiring and experienced triathletes, and Ironman finishers... ordinary people with an extraordinary passion for swimming and an extraordinary appreciation of friendship, fitness, competition, and life!

Founded in 1985 Fort Bend Masters Swimming (FBMS) is a member of US Masters Swimming (USMS) in the Texas Gulf region. The team was reorganized and incorporated as a non-profit organization in 2007. Practices are conducted in an atmosphere of camaraderie and friendly competition, and workouts are structured to encourage recreational and competitive swimming.

Like most Masters groups, the membership is diverse, comprising former competitive swimmers,  triathletes, novice swimmers looking to improve their skills or finish their first triathlon, and a growing group of swimmers who travel to exotic locations for open water swims.  And you can always find a group of us at Starbucks for coffee after our Saturday morning swims. We love our team social get-togethers too!

The team has a variety of experienced coaches. Head coach, Anna Bass, an avid open water swimmer with over 17 years of coaching experience promoting positive pool and team experiences, and making swimming accessible to diverse populations. Assistant Coaches Melissa Hoffman, an avid long-distance swimmer, Ironman finisher, and USMS levels 1, 2, 3 certified coach; and Amanda Silberman, former high school competitor and our club’s treasurer.
